Our whole staff consists of only Volunteers. As a Nonprofit the volunteer work without pay from the goodness of their hearts.
Our wonderful store president Linda Makinson who has been a volunteer for over two years. Linda is skilled in banking, leadership, and making jewelry.
Tanja Riding is our store manager who can clean up any mess and make any friends. She has been with the Optimist Club for several years. Tanja is known for her positive attitude, arts and crafts, and her handmade Gnomes.
Mary Diaz is one of our hardest workers who never has time to take a break. She is our amazing treasurer and friend.
High Schooler Rene Diaz is the creator of the website, cashier, and communications liaison of the Optimist Thrift store.
Sheryl Wrangler is the secretary of the Optimist Thrift store and takes out the trash every day out of her own kindness. Sheryl is a great volunteer and comes in every week.
Martina is one of our amazing store volunteers who brings in donations every week including all the jewelry the store has. She is one of our hardest and kindest workers. She is also excellent at arts and crafts.

The first official Optimist Club was formed in Buffalo, New York, in 1911.
Impetus for a nationwide Optimist movement began when the Optimist Club of Indianapolis, Indiana, was formed in May 1916. Throughout the 1900s the Optimist International began to grew and now we work to help our community and the less fortunate through donations and community involvement.
By providing hope and positive vision, Optimist bring out the best in youth, our communities and ourselves.

Our Annual Optimist Essay Contest has commenced.
Essay must contain at least 700 word but no more than 800
The club is offering two highschool seniors a $1,000 scholarships, and the winter qualifier fo the district contest
Topic: "How Does An Optimist Mindset Change My Tomorrow?"

The optimist club exists out of a board that consists of the President, Treasurer, Secretary, Communication Liaison , and former president for one year
The Optimist Club is a nationwide organization with the mission to help the community and children.
The Thriftstore is the ongoing Fundraiser(nonprofit) that makes the money that will all go to the community and charities.
The thrift store consists of the store manager, cashier, and volunteers.
All of our proceeds go back to the community providing scholarships, support the boys and girls club, support chamber, S&W Children hospital, 5 Hills Pagent, CCISD, CCISD new teachers, Blue Santa, Cove Library, senior center, project graduation, assisting disabled victims, working with local schools, operation stand down, Cove House, Mayfest, sick children, families in need, McLane Miracle Network.
Our thrift shop survives on donations from the wonderful people in our community. Please if you have any donations like clothes, dishes, books, etc bring them down to the thrift store. All our profits go to the community.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
